Tony D. Head is an award nominated actor who returned to New York city in 2014 after being away from the business for over 20 years. Tony left the business to help take care of his special needs daughter Layla who requires full time supervision. He took parts now and then while working a full time job all the time devoting his efforts to finding her a safe environment for independent living.In 2013 he and his ex accomplished that and it allowed him to give acting another try after a long hiatus.. Since then he was featured in the critically acclaimed off Broadway production of "Hounds of War" at the Abingdon theatre. Tony played Major Bobby Reed in the HBO hit series The Wire (2002), and has appeared in HBO's The Corner (2000), Veep (2012), and numerous other prime time shows including more recently HBO's "The Deuce" in a recurring role, CBS's Madam Secretary (2018). In 2019, he will be appearing in Asunder the Series (2019) playing Austin Blair, the head of a powerful cosmetic company, the feature film Strive (2019) starring Danny Glover, and the new web series Bronx SIU (2018) nominated for 3 daytime Emmys in 2019. He also had the privilege of working with Director Todd Phillips in the blockbuster movie Joker(2019) starring Joaquin Phoenix. Tony will be appearing in Lazy Susan (2020) , starring Sean Hayes, Allison Janney, and Matthew Broderick and A New York Christmas Wedding starring Chris Noth(2020) . Tony just recently appeared in Law and Order, Special Victims unit and will be featured in the upcoming Lionsgate film Room Nine: They Turned us into killers.. Tony studied with Earle Hyman at HB studio,Ted Bardy studios(Ted Bardy and Glen Vincent) , Susan Batson Studio(Carl Ford) and Rob Mccaskill Studios(Rob Mccaskill). In April 2017 he was nominated best guest actor for the award winning drama Pride: The Series (2014) by The Indie Series Awards and in 2019 was nominated best actor in a Drama for Asunder the series by the Capital City Web Awards. In 2020 Tony wrote and produced The Case which in 2021 has just entered the festival circuit and already won numerous awards Tony lives in Manhattan NY.
