Phil Galaras movie list
Phil Galaras was born in Urbana, Illinois. He and his two older sisters were raised in a small town called Savoy. Phil attended school in the nearby town of Champaign where he participated in soccer, football, baseball, and wrestling. He did not have any contact with the drama club until he auditioned and landed a role in his high school production of "Hello Dolly." He fell in love with acting, but he was determined to play college football. His athleticism was good enough to get him a scholarship to a division three football program. Sadly, he suffered a career ending injury just three games into the first season. Lost and confused about what he wanted for his future, Phil bounced from job to job, college to college, and major to major. Phillip's awakening came when he began taking acting classes at the Parkland community college under Amy Stoch. His love for acting was reawakened. Following his class he began landing roles in local short films while making trips to Chicago to perform at the Chicago Art Institute. In 2015, Phil made the jump to L.A. where he began getting bit parts in film, T.V. and on the internet.
In 2016, He began working in motion capture film making. That work took him all the way Nanjing, China where he spent the better part of the next two years. While working on the crew side of numerous Chinese productions, Phil wrote and co-starred in play at night and in his off days. The play's cast consisted of a very diverse group of individuals. Half of which were Chinese actors based out of Nanjing and half consisted of ex-pats from America, Turkey, South Africa, and a variety of other nationalities. The group called themselves International Spice.
He began training for long form Improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and completed the first 3 levels. Unfortunately, the pandemic hit and he was unable to complete the fourth level. However, he joined the Anthony Gilardi Studio on February 17,2020. While many studio shut down during lock-down this particular studio went virtual and Phil was able to train 4 times a week. When lock-down was over he and many of his fellow classmates went back to in person class which is where you can catch him training weekly. By: Joe P.
