Cameron Counts movie list
Cameron Counts was born on May 30th, 1974 in Olney, Illinois and lived most of his life in Wayne City. Graduated Wayne City Grade school in 1988 and Wayne City High School in 1992.
Attended (and dropped out from) the Southern Illinois University - Carbondale film program.
Although unproduced, he has been a screenwriter for most of his life. He has both shorts and features in various stages of development.
In November of 2003, he Founded the Writing Initiative to provide education and support for writers of all ages, mediums and genres.
Moved to Springfield IL in 2004.
He was the primary Judge of the Writing Initiative/Get Initiative screenwriting contest and was on the judging panel for the Route 66 Film Festival from 2008-2011.
In October of 2008, he was elected President of the Springfield and Central Illinois Film Commission and served for over 3 years. Stepped down in 2012 in preparation for a major move.
Although "The Perfect Mark" was his first role on film, he has also acted in the dinner theatre production "Dinner with the Mafia" (2007)
In summer of 2010, he started Five Bean Productions and his first film project, "Stairways to Nowhere", a short documentary focusing on the Mississippi gulf coast that chronicles the Hurricane Katrina recovery and the 5th Anniversary events.
Was on both the Steering Committee and Board when Springfield's Public Access Channel 4 went non-profit in 2011 and eventually was elected Vice President.
Moved to Los Angeles area (Pacoima) in February of 2013.
Read for the Scriptwriters Network's High Concept Screenwriting Competition for the 2011, 2012 and 2013 competitions.
Was the Primary Judge/Reader for the 1st Annual RIP Horror Film Festival Screenplay Competition in 2013.
Moved back to his hometown in Illinois May of 2014, is still screenwriting and is considering Producing.
He is currently single...painfully single.
He also enjoys referring to himself in the 3rd person.
